How we develop
Whether copper foils, lead foils, tin foils or others: highest quality is guaranteed
The name "EppsteinFOILS" stands for technical foils made of the metals lead, tin, and their alloys. Furthermore, we produce also copper foils.
Besides low thickness, our foils are distinguished for their optimal, specific product characteristics and highest quality – this forms the basis for our worldwide market leading position in the segment of ultra-thin metal foils.
Available for delivery are metallic blank foils, but also a large number of composites coated on different materials, such as metals, papers, cardboard, various plastics and fleece or textiles. In addition, these material combinations can also be surface-coated with different varnishes.
EppsteinFOILS products are as versatile as their areas of application in diverse industries: we cut them to size specifically for the respective customer needs according to the purpose for use, the desired material properties, and the further processing.
Material properties
Oxygen impermeability
By virtue of the gas tightness of the foils, an oxygen barrier is formed for a wide range of applications.
Electrical conductibility
Our metal foils stand out for their special electrical characteristics supporting diverse applications. Through the combination with other materials, also specific insulation properties can be realised.
Corrosion resistance
Corrosion is a threat to product durability in many applications. Our metal foils provide an excellent solution for a wide variety of problems.
Radiation impermeability
The metal foils ensure shielding against gamma-rays and high-frequency radiation, and can therefore be used, e.g. for x-raying in medical technology or also in materials testing.
Suitability for foodstuff
The metal foils form a functional barrier and thereby prevent the migration of substances into the foodstuff. This way, the requirements of the Foodstuff and Commodities Act (LMBG), respectively of the Food and Feed Code (LFGB), as well as the PIM Directive (Plastics Implementation Measure) are fulfilled.
Plasticity
The metal foils can be used as technical sealing by virtue of their high ductility and softness.
Melting range
Because of their low melting point, the metal foils can be used for soft soldering. Also lead-free solder-tins are available.

Based on the insights from these partnerships, new fields of application are discovered more quickly and checked for new approaches. All further developments are tested and verified – and implemented if successful.
